Little Pianist

Save as Draft
Brock has taken to the piano of late and is quite proud of himself! He loves to pound and then clap.... pretty big stuff!!!

Our newest kid er... big people toy!

On Saturday Ron and I actually went shopping together all day without kids!!! Not exactly the smartest time of year to do this but all the same we had a blast!! I think it's been 4 1/2 years since we've taken a whole day to do this together. Of course about a 3rd of our day was spent at Scheels Sporting Goods store and our biggest purchase was an air hockey table but hey that's par for the course if I expect him to go shopping for a day. (And I really like the air hockey table too!) The kids have already spent hours on it.

Winter Survival Land

We've had a much better week...the kids all have nasty colds but thankfully Jed's new asthma meds are working good so we haven't had any ER visits!! Brock continues to have diarrhea daily...poor guy! He has definatly lost weight but is eating good and drinking good. You'd think with this sub-zero weather we've been having the bugs would die....guess they've learned to live through it out here.

The kids have enjoyed having Alivea here to play with. Gives them something new to fight about... "she's my friend...no!! She's mine!"....anyways. We have been making use of our YMCA membership as it seems to be my sanity lately. Thankgoodness for drop-in daycare. I usually work out for about an hour and then go take a peaceful shower all by myself. Often we leave Brock their while I take the older two to the pool. Ron has been going some evenings to play raquetball with his brother too.
I am still running. This week has been good. I decided to get some over priced winter running clothes so have been enjoying chilly early morning runs in the snow. I sure wish ND knew what salt was... takes forever to get rid of snowy roads without it. Yesterday I ran 7 miles outside and then did 4.5 at the Y last night. Not too many weeks left before the marathon so working extra hard lately.
Hugs to everyone

My Nightmare!

It's been a bit since I updated so here's the latest. The kids all have colds but the worst is over. It all started last Wed. at meeting. Ron was out of town so I bundled the kids up and off we went to meeting. Half-way through prayer I hear this little urp sound and look at Jed who is gagging. So i throw Brock down in the middle of meeting and grab Jed to run for the bathroom. He proceeded to throw up all over me and himself as we left a trail for the bathroom. Good thing we made it there as he was all done by the time we arrrived!!! HAH I really tried hard to find a hole to crawl into but none was to be found. Soon I heard a vaccuum and everyone came to help. Meeting was put on hold until we left. We borrowed some clothes and headed home. Jed continued to lose his cookies every 15 minutes all nght long. I joined him mid-way through the night and Jera joined in at 6am. Brock woke up at 7 with diarrahea from neck in front to neck in back. So there we were all of sick and no daddy. Needless to say Ron got and SOS phone call and he came home.... not to help but because he was sick too! AARGH!! Well we made it through so hope we don't have any repeats tonight at meeting!! I decided I didn't need to add any photos of that little episode in our lives!!!

Celebrating Thanksgiving

We had 27 people for dinner on Friday. Celebrated a day late as that is what worked for everyone best. It was so fun to be together again. We all shared what we were most thankful for and then we did a gift game. Carrie stayed over and brought Jed her old guitar which he absolutely loves!!
We had a full house overnight and then most left. Paul and Janice stayed until noon on Monday. We had lots of fun. As I was cleaning up the house on Monday, Brock decided to add to the mess. I think he quickly realized he would be in trouble because he took off running leaving tiny footprints behind him. Check out the floor leaving the mess!!! I couldn't resist taking a picture before going to locate the little rascal!!! Happy Thanksgiving to
all!

Getting ready for Turkey day

Paul and Janice arrived on Thursday. The kids had lots of fun dinking around with Uncle Paul! Jed and I made Cinnamon rolls and we had a fairly relaxing day. Went over to Glenns for supper with everyone. Fun to see the cousins together.

Runners High

Well I totaled 27 miles this week after running 9.5 this morning!! I have 12 weeks till race day so hoping I can stick with it! I am starting to get the runners high everyone talks about...and my husband has accused me of getting addicted. I have to say I never thought I could run that many miles at once so I felt a lot like Brock looks on this picture! HAH

mom and grandma come for a visit

OnSaturday evening my mom and grandma arrived after driving all day. Grandma took us out Sunday for my birthday and then got me a dairy queen cake! YUM We had a fun day playing games and relaxing. Monday mom baked with the kids while grandma chased after all my pets ( dust bunnies) and killed every last one. Guess I'll just have to get a few more HAH! Now my house is all ready for Thanksgiving! Ron's family will be coming to help us celebrate that. Today, Tuesday, they left bright and early to head home. Safe travels.....

November 11, 2007

Jera and I made a trip to WI for my Aunt Judy's mom's funeral. We had a great trip there until about an hour before arriving at the hotel. Jera decided that sour milk didn't need to stay in her stomach and promptly lost her entire stomach all over herself, car seat and van. WOW! Lessons form mom 101... always check the milk from gas stations before giving to child. Anyways.... hours later things were back to normal and the rest of the weekend went well. My dad joined us at the hotel for the weekend as well as Cindy and her girls. We enjoyed lots of time in the pool. It was so nice to be in meeting with Uncle Larry and Aunt Judy... something very softening about the loss of someone so special.

Weekend with Steve and Anita Haakenson

We enjoyed our weekend up at Haakensons. The kids loved seeing the new baby! Jera has been asking for one now....sorry not happening!!!! Fun to have playmates for each of the kids. Anita was sure she was having a girl; but since they seem to be following in our footsteps I predicted a boy. HAH! They were married exactly a year after us and their first baby was born a year a day later then Jed. Then followed Alyssa a year and 2 months after Jera and now Brendan a year and 2 months after Brock. Told them they can have the long lead on the next one.

My Little Tricker Treaters

The kids and I spent a day making their costumes. We then visited the neighbors and went to a nursing home where one of the friends lives. We also visited the older friends homes in our area. It was a very fun family event!! Now we are in candy restrict mode around here. Seems to me the candy is disappearing way faster then the kids are eating it! HUMMM...

Nothing too exciting has happened lately. We have been enjoying fall weather and hope to keep snow at bay as long as possible although there were flurries in the air yesterday. I am going to post a few pictures from the last couple of months. Brock turned one in Aug and Jera turned 3 in October. Hard to believe how quickly they are changing. Brock began walking in Sept and is now running and into everything. We almost lost him at the library today as he took off full steam while I was getting Jera's coat on. Jed and Jera started swim lessons last week.... Jera isn't too sure about them but Jed is loving it. Jera loves water but isn't too sure about her teacher. We'll see what tonight brings. Ron is definitely in busy season and with the new area is extra busy. I have started running again and am planning on doing the half marathon in Feb in Sedona AZ. Wish me lots of LUCK!!!
We are enjoying our home in Jamestown and are settled in. We'd love to see you and we have room for all to stay. I'll let this be all for now. Bear with me....I'm new at this.

Hello

I seem to be having trouble these days keeping up to date with pictures. So I'm going to give this blog thing a try. I'll try to keep you updated on all the major occurrences of our family; like how many rolls of toilet paper we've rerolled because of Brock or how many cheerios we've swept off the floor. Anyways hope everyone is doing well!!
